Officials with the West Palm Beach Police Department say they have arrested two men for illegal dumping, just days after the City launched a campaign geared toward keeping its streets clean.Officers arrested Thomas Fucarile and Lavoris Grisby on Friday, and charged them with a felony crime of dumping human waste on Executive Center Drive.A probable cause affidavit states that a crew driving a tanker truck pumped waste from septic tanks and then deposited the sewage into a manhole in the Executive Center Drive cul-de-sac between July and September of this year.Fucarile, who owns the business, was served with a cease and desist order and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.According to West Palm Beach Police Dept. Spokesperson David Lefont, “This is a quality of life issue.”Mayor Keith James says tipsters who report acts of illegal dumping could be eligible for a $100 reward.More information about the City of West Palm Beach’s “Operation Clean Streets” initiative to curb illegal dumping through enforcement and prevention is available here.
Facebook5Tweet0Pin0Submitted by Shelter SolutionsMike Auderer is most known in this community as a successful entrepreneur and for his involvement in local government. He is not afraid to use his voice to stand up for what he believes – especially when it comes to the local building industry. What many do not know is that Mike has recently shifted gears to battle the on-going issue of homelessness in Thurston County. The inside of a Shelter Solutions unit. Photo courtesy: Shelter SolutionsAs a business owner downtown, Mike found himself growing frustrated with not being able to assist with a response to the issue of homelessness arising around him. So, like any successful entrepreneur, he decided to put his skills to use and create ideas, products, and strategies to offer as solutions. Utilizing his welding and construction skills, he developed three styles of “Shelter Solutions” Units – using 20 foot conex shipping containers. The first is a 3-person unit for individuals and the second is a couples/ADA unit which provides two shelter spaces. And the third, needed more than ever in the face of COVID-19, is the Hygiene Unit, which is a 3-stall unit. Each Hygiene Unit stall is complete with a shower, toilet and sink, with one stall being ADA compliant. Shelter Solutions Units can be shipped like any other container which makes them very easy to place onsite with a forklift or crane. They can hook to domestic water with a hose, waste can go to an OSSS, city sewer, or an above ground holding tank that can be pumped out.According to Mike Auderer, “Rather than just get angry, we decided to do something! We have created safe sheltering options for those most in need in our community. A zipper on a tent does not provide security or safety. People deserve more! All of our units are built with metal doors and a lock, along with a bed, window, power, and storage. Our goal is to provide residents the needed stability and safety we all take for granted. We believe we have created a safe, durable, customizable and effective sheltering option for a wide range of settings – giving people the opportunity to find their success.”Mike is excited to announce that currently they are in production to fill orders for the City of Olympia and Thurston County!Cheryl Selby, Mayor of Olympia adds, “Shelter Solutions are the type of innovative solutions that cities need to address our homelessness crisis. As a mayor, I understand the limited resources that cities have to address the immediate need of housing-stress-dependent populations. Shelter Solutions provides and affordable interim solution that is safe and secure while we work to build more permanent housing.”If you would like more information please go to the Shelter Solutions website or email Mike directly at [email protected]

“My goals for next year at Selkirk are to excel both on and off the ice in the classroom,” says Fuchs. “There’s nothing more I’d want than to win a BCIHL championship while staying on top of my school work and maintaining a good grade point average.”Similar to the Saints, Fuchs and the Thunder Cats are currently chasing down a home ice playoff spot and sit two points back of the Kimberley Dynamiters in the Eddie Mountain Division with six games remaining. They will need Fuch’s experience down the stretch.“Marcel is a hard worker on and off the ice and a high character individual who will thrive in any role given to him,” says Dubois.“He has been a tremendous leader for us this season and understands the level of commitment and focus that it takes to be part of a winning program. The Thunder Cats organization is thrilled that he will have a chance to advance his academic and hockey careers in the BCIHL.”After a weekend off, this year’s edition of the Saints return to the ice on Friday night when they will host the Simon Fraser University Clan at the Castlegar Recreation Complex starting at 7 p.m.The game is Alumni Night as Selkirk honours past members of the Saints. With Trinity Western University solidified in the BCIHL top spot, the Saints are focussed on capturing second place which would give them the coveted home-ice advantage when the playoffs start in March. The Saints are currently in third place in the league, one point behind the University of Victoria and two points ahead of Simon Fraser. The Saints have six regular season games remaining, including four straight on the road to end the season. The Saints last regular season home game is February 13 against Eastern Washington University.Playoffs start on March 6. In 2013-2014 playoffs, Fuchs scored eight points in 16 games but the Thunder Cats lost to the eventual KIJHL Champion Beaver Valley Nitehawks in the Kootenay Conference Championship series.“I was able to watch Marcel quite a few times during his KIJHL career and he always brings energy and a consistent work ethic to each game,” says Evin. “He will be a capable two-way player and penalty killer who takes pride in playing the game the right way.”Fuchs plans to enroll in the General Associate of Science Program at Selkirk College and later pursue a degree in Respiratory Therapy.
SANTA CLARA — Guard Ben Garland signed Tuesday with the 49ers, and while he is familiar with coach Kyle Shanahan’s system from their 2016 season together in Atlanta, the 49ers needed depth at that spot entering this week’s draft.Garland appeared in 46 games and started seven during his Falcons tenure the past three seasons. He originally signed with the Denver Broncos in 2010 out of the Air Force Academy and, after his two years of military commitment, he spent two seasons on the Broncos …
Top Reasons to Go With Managed WordPress Hosting Activist shareholder Dan Loeb just called for Sony to sell up to 20% of its entertainment division, and Sony has already rejected the offer in a statement provided to USA Today. Third Point, a New York-based hedge fund managed by Loeb, owns roughly 6.5% of Sony, making it one of the company’s largest shareholders with a stake valued at $1.1 billion. By selling 15-20% of Sony Entertainment, Loeb claimed Sony could boost the value of its shares, sharpen the company’s overall focus and help revive its consumer electronics business. (Three guesses as to which one of those Loeb cares most about.) Sony’s statement reads: As President and CEO Kazuo Hirai has said repeatedly, the entertainment businesses are important contributors to Sony’s growth and are not for sale… We look forward to continuing constructive dialogue with our shareholders as we pursue our strategy. readwrite Related Posts Tags:#Sony Why Tech Companies Need Simpler Terms of Servic… A Web Developer’s New Best Friend is the AI Wai… 8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Market
